June 21, 2019
HARRISBURG – Players and coaches from the state champion Frazier High School Lady Commodores softball team were honored on the floor of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Thursday by Rep. Ryan Warner (R-Fayette/Westmoreland).
The team earned the PIAA Class AA championship title by beating Brandywine Heights 6-5 on Friday, June 14.
“As the state representative serving this area and especially as an alum of Frazier High School myself, I could not be more proud of the players and coaches for all of their hard work and dedication,” Warner said. “It is not only the team’s first-ever state title but also the first title earned by any team at the school…and the first championship in Fayette County in more than a decade.”
Team members making the trip to Harrisburg included Kathryn Barch, Emi Curcio, Logan Hartman, Juliann Johnson, Mackenzie Kelly, Abigail Scott, Haley Somers and Victoria Washinski, as well as coaches Don and Mandy Hartman and several parents.
