LEMONT FURNACE – Rep. Ryan Warner (R-Fayette/Westmoreland) announced this week that $443,078 was awarded to Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. for Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) and Computer Science (CS) expansion.
“Computer science and STEM are fast-growing fields here in the Commonwealth and nation- wide,” said Warner. “Grants like these help schools, universities and agencies strengthen their curriculum and programs to better serve our children and young adults as they prepare for their future and enter the workforce.”
PAsmart advancing grants give regions a chance to expand CS and STEM ecosystems and develop better CS and STEM experiences to historically underserved populations and strengthen the pool of CS and STEM educators.
