Warner Appointed Chairman of Subcommittee on Housing

April 19, 2017

HARRISBURG – Rep. Ryan Warner (R-Fayette/Westmoreland) has been appointed chairman of the Subcommittee on Housing under the Commerce Committee by Speaker of the House Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny).

“It is an honor to be selected by the speaker to chair this subcommittee in only my second term,” Warner said. “I am eager to work to legislatively address any concerns related to the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency and mortgage laws.”

To facilitate the appointment, Warner was removed from the Tourism and Recreational Development Committee and appointed to the Commerce Committee. His other committee assignments remain Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Children and Youth, and Game and Fisheries. Warner continues to serve as a commissioner on the Port of Pittsburgh Commission and chairman of the legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus.

The Commerce Committee is responsible for originating legislation and overseeing implementation of programs which affect Pennsylvania companies. The committee has primary jurisdiction over corporate governance through the business corporation law, as well as regulation of offers of sale and credit through such statutes as the Goods and Services Installment Sales Act, the Unfair Sales Act, and the Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Act.
