Dowling, Warner to Host Honor Ceremony for Fayette County First Response Agencies

UNIONTOWN – To honor the men and women who devote their time as first responders, Reps. Matt Dowling (R-Fayette/Somerset) and Ryan Warner (R-Fayette/Westmoreland) will host a First Responders Recognition Ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 19, beginning at 6 p.m.

The ceremony will recognize first responders throughout Fayette County, including fire, rescue, emergency medical services and law enforcement. It will be held at the Third Presbyterian Church, 425 Union St., Uniontown.

“Our first responders are some of the finest people to call Fayette County home, and they dedicate so much of their time protecting life and property, training for the next emergencies or raising funds to keep their units operating,” Dowling said. “The least we can do is to take an evening to show them how much we appreciate all they do for our communities.”

The ceremony will be open to the public, with a private reception for first responders to follow the ceremony. Dinner for the private reception will be provided by First Christian Church of New Salem and Triumphant Fellowship Church for first responders and their guests. Those first responders should RSVP with Blair in Dowling’s office at (724) 438-6100.

“Our first responders are always there when we need them,” Warner said. “They help us in our most vulnerable times. They put our needs before their own and their families. We owe them and their loved ones a debt of gratitude for their selfless service. I’m pleased to join Rep. Dowling in honoring these unsung heroes.”

Participating first response agencies are also encouraged to bring a piece of equipment to display, if appropriate. Parking will be reserved in front of the church for EMS, fire, rescue or law enforcement vehicles.

The public will be able to park in the rear of the building.
