HARRISBURG – Rep. Ryan Warner (R-Fayette/Westmoreland) is inviting area senior citizens to the Connellsville Area Senior Center for assistance with filing Property Tax/Rent Rebate claim forms.

Warner’s staff will be available on Thursday, April 7, and Thursday, May 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The senior center is located at 100 E. Fayette St., Connellsville.

Applicants should be prepared to provide all the necessary income, property tax or rental information required to process claims quickly and accurately.

“We are happy to help eligible seniors and people with disabilities file for these valuable rebates on the rent or property taxes they paid in 2021,” Warner said. “We offer this assistance at no cost and I encourage people to take advantage of the opportunity.”

The rebate program benefits Pennsylvanians ages 65 and older, widows and widowers 50 and older and people with disabilities 18 and older. The income limit is $35,000 a year for homeowners, and $15,000 annually for renters. Half of Social Security should be excluded from income calculations.

The maximum standard rebate is $650, but supplemental rebates for certain qualifying homeowners can boost rebates to $975. The Revenue Department calculates supplemental rebates for qualifying homeowners.

The deadline to apply for a rebate is June 30. Rebates will be distributed beginning July 1.
