CONNELLSVILLE – As residents in Fayette County and across the Commonwealth continue to deal with illegible license plates, Rep. Ryan Warner (R-Fayette) is teaming up with the Pennsylvania State Police in hosting another event to help get those plates replaced.
“State law requires PennDOT to replace standard license plates that are deemed illegible at no cost to the vehicle owner,” Warner said. “I encourage residents whose plates are worn and difficult to read to take advantage of the opportunity to get the replacement process started.”
The event is scheduled for Thursday, May 30, from 3-6 p.m. at Connellsville Township Fire Hall,
905 Fireman St., Connellsville.
A registration plate is deemed illegible when one or more numbers or letters cannot be recognized from 50 feet or if the registration plate shows any blistering, peeling, discoloration or loss of reflectivity. Pennsylvania State Police will be on hand to view driver’s plates, and if the plates are deemed illegible, paperwork to start the replacement process will be completed.
Those who plan to attend should bring their vehicle with the affected plate attached, along with their unexpired PA driver’s license and current vehicle registration card.
Please RSVP by calling Warner’s office at 724-437-1105 or by signing up online at
